Nature helped stir a media frenzy today, giving thousands of people across Asia a chance to witness the longest total solar eclipse of this century.

In a strange way, it brought ancient myths face-to-face with modern media. While millions stayed away, haunted by the perfect alignment of Earth, Moon and Sun, others filled the morning with Tweets, video and photos. Whether you believe in the Sun-eating dragon (as some Chinese do), or the two demons Rahu and Ketu (in Hindu mythology), we’d love to hear of your dark morning. Feel free to post some photos with your comments below.

I found that the eclipse was very fascinating, I saw it unfold from outside my classroom window and my teacher permitted us to go out and stand by the corridors and take a look. The other classes also did so. I think that the fact that such a thing actually happens like, once in a million years, is something to definitely think about and why it actually happens and the real scientific science behind it.

This solar eclipse occurs every 500 years. This year has the longest period of solar eclipse, about 6 minutes. It is hard to see it in equator country(e.g. Malaysia and Singapore). Plus, the weather is rainy and cloudy.
