Text message on Cory’s death a hoax – report

24 July 2009 2 Comments

(UPDATE) A text message claiming that former President Corazon Aquino is dead is a hoax.

A report quoting a staff member of Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III said that the former president was alive but in “critical condition.” Aquino’s supporters had been tying yellow ribbons in Makati City and Manila to show their continued support for the ailing leader.

The British Embassy has issued an apology after it sent its condolences to the Aquino family.

Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton wished a speedy recovery for the former president.

Aquino, who has been diagnosed with stage-four colon cancer, was hospitalized for loss of appetite. She is the widow of assassinated opposition leader Benigno Aquino. The assassination sparked a “people power” revolt in 1986 that led to ouster of dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

Have you tied a yellow ribbon to support Aquino?

Yes, i have been and still is a supporter and avid fan of tita Cory! She is one graet Lady to emulate and respect. Kokonti na lang ang mga katulad nya. I do not know her personally but i am deeply moved by her convictions and if only THE GREAT LORD could still extend her life. I wish what is BEST for TITA CORY.

every persons time on earth has its limits and i think for former president aquino time is running out.prayers is a great source of power in times of pain and suffering. but what we ought to pray for her is what the good lord’s will would be in her life. she has served her country well. and by prolonging her life through prayer for false hope will not help her in her weaken state. our prayers should be that mrs aquino will have the right frame of thought in accepting the inevitable and that she will face her creator with boldness and confidence knowing that she has been a good steward and child of his while given the chance to live out her life in this world serving her country…not only her but so do we!!!
