Corazon Aquino: Woman of simplicity

She was a woman of simplicity, honesty, and integrity. This was how most of her family and close friends remembered the late president Corazon Aquino.
In the necrological services at the Manila Cathedral Tuesday, Aquino was described as a woman who was never extravagant, yet full of love and always ready to share whatever she had.
“Simplicity characterized her in her lifetime. She is the most credible and outstanding embodiment of integrity,” said a nun, identified as Sister Remy.
“She is a loving sister. Cory, you will forever be with us,” Aquino’s brother, Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. said.
Aquino’s sister-in-law, Maria Aurora Lichauco, meanwhile, tagged the former president as a great mother, having been able to raise “refined, responsible and beautiful offsprings,” despite the absence of her husband, Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino who was killed at the tarmac upon his return to the Philippines in 1983. It was his death that sparked People Power revolution, which catapulted his widow to power in 1986.
“I promised Cory I will always be here for her children,” she added, making Aquino’s children emotional.
Designer Paul Cabral who made Aquino’s yellow funeral dress said the icon of democracy was “truly a wonderful woman.”
“Thank you for the fond memories. I feel blessed for the privilege of loving you and being loved in return,” he added.
But the most memorable speech came from Aquino’s bodyguard of 23 years, Inspector Mel Mamaril.
“She nicely treats people around her, no matter how big or small. She treated us just like how a mother treats her son,” said Mamaril who gave his boss a final salute. His act made Aquino’s youngest daughter Kris more emotional.
Aquino’s only son, Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, again thanked the public for condoling with their family, noting that they were deeply moved by messages from grade school students who were not even born at the time Cory was president.
“Mom, I really, truly believe you have fought a good fight and you have finished with a cause,” the senator said.
Also present the necrological services were Former president Fidel Ramos, diplomats, cabinet members of the Aquino administration, heads of business communities and ranking officials of the police and military.

I wish I was able to watch the necrological services and be able to hear more of president aquino’s kindness to every one.
She would always be special to the Lord, her Creator. No evil can grab her and to contaminate her and make her fail now. She would always be a success –as successful as the Lord in giving to her the role as the champion for Philippines’ Freedom. “So fragile and delicate as a simple wife”, yet so powerful to rise as the stronghold of God. She’s the answer of all Filipinos’ sighs -when we march crying in the wilderness of Marcos Rule, the Lord then provide us! The weak made strong . Mother Cory will remain for all times the President who freed Filipinos from the bondage of man’s greediness, out from the Philippine Martial Law. May her eternal passage be our guide and reminders to be vigilant now and clear headed in voting for the next President this coming 2010 in our lives. It is us who will make ourselves a bright future! Not by the money that a politician may bribe to give us- It will not last long; it cannot be passed to our children and our children’s children’s children. Let us live free! Free from the abuse of our greedy politicians. Free from serving the evil deeds. But most of all…Free from what Freedom God want us to be. “Actions speaks more than words”.

Cory..pero alam natin lahat na namatay xa na mapayapa na puno nang pagdarasal nang sambayanan..sinuportahan xa nang maraming Pilipino habang nakikipaglaban sa sakit.for me,it’s a big fight, big challenge.,but we all know that she’s with God now..Happy and Peaceful with his beloved husband Ninoy..Sana may makagawa pa rin nang katulad nang ginawa ni Pres.Cory,Wish ko lang..
Maligayang paglalakbay and Mabuhay ka pa rin Pres.Cory!!You’re our inspiration..FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!
I was awestruck when I was in La Salle and touched the casket last Monday. I got teary-eyed a number of times during the speeches in the Cathedral. I cried mostly even at the sight of schoolchildren queuing along the path of the cortege. To some, such sights may seem simple but to others, such poignant scenes are pictures of how Tita Cory is loved by those who really know how to love without reservations or affectations. Hate to take potshots at this hour but to those who keep silent, (dumbstruck? playing deaf? playing dumb?) and yet even attempted to make things inconvenient to the Aquino family I am reminded again of a quote from Charles Earl Spencer the brother of Princess Diana who said on her sister’s burial that “genuine goodness is threatening to those at the the opposite end of the moral spectrum”.
As a wife,I admire your steadfastness in your trials
As a mother,I admire your love and care for your children
As a leader, I admire your character, you knew how to handle power and when to end
As a person, I admire your simpleness, because I believe simplicity is confidence.
For the legacy you left behind, may we Filipinos finally have the will to open our eyes, learned our lessons and realized importance of good values.
Maraming Salamat, Mrs. Corazon C. Aquino
madam Cory thank you so much for all the sacrifices you have given for our country…Thank you for being such a great model to all of us…Thank you for your unselfish love that you have shared with us…I will live the the fight that you started…I will do my part as a citizen of this country to fight for the right..I hope to be like you..You will always be remembered not only by me but of my whole family..and I will pass on to my children your greatness as a Leader, as a Christian and above all as a mother…Thank you so much..Long live President Cory Aquino!!!
When the people power revolution started, I was still a little kid that time. Not knowing what happened and why things happened. I do not know Mrs Aquino in person but I know that she is a good person. She had made Filipinos realized, how worthy we are. Thank you Mrs President. I may not know you but I can’t help but cry because our country has lost a great leader like you. May you rest in eternal peace with our creator.

Thank You Pres. Cory for restoring democracy in our country. We will never forget a loving president like you. I know you are now in the hands of our creator.

I never liked her, and I’m ashamed to realized that she had done so much that I am not aware of! I am so sad about her death, not because she is gone, I am sad because it was late for me to realized how lucky the Filipinos to have a mother like her. I am proud, how she raised her children, how beatiful and strong their characters to face this tragedy and most of all, I am proud how this “Simple Woman” reunites her people until her death. Rest in peace, Mrs. President!
Tita Cory, You have given us (Filipino) the GIFT of FREEDOM a gift that cannot be forgotten eternally. Thank you. May God reward you with what you have done. How I wish you’ll be our National Hero or a Saint. joseph
Salamat at Paalam Cory… You will always be the mother of the Filipino people… You’ll always be remembered by your simplicity, integrity and pure-heartedness… May your legacy live on…

we are still struggling economically and most specially politically….. but it could have been worse without her. I remembered she visited our school during the estrada issues, our school ground is only as big as a soccer field but still wasnt filled, and only a few listened. But a week after, those few that she were able to gather in different schools and different places fills the edsa shrine. She never loses hope for us the way most of us did, the way I did…. But I’ll try to be a part of those ‘few’…..
sana lang napatumba si GMA

President Cory, we will miss you. Your memories will remain in our hearts. We love you……..
I’m not a Filipino but I grew up here in the Philippines. I feel deeply for the loss of all Filipinos, especially for the children of former President Cory Aquino. I know how tragic it is to lose a parent, I lost my father when I was in grade 6. Pres. Cory Aquino was a woman with divine virtues. I admired her for her deep faith in God and her unwavering love for her countrymen. A simple housewife, a loving mother not only to her biological children but to every Filipino as well. I hope her legacy will not only inspire every Filipinos to be virtuous like her but also to faithfully love their country as well.
A person like her is truly one in a million. Imagine how wonderful the world could be if we can duplicate her integrity, modesty and unwavering faith in our creator. I’m certain that she has touched not only Christians but also those of different faith. She is indeed God’s gift to our nation. It’s not too late for us to emanate her as we continue to go on with our lives. Perhaps this is God’s message to us, that despite of all the luxuries abound her, she choses to be humble and genuinely generous. A seemingly impossible thing to do, but she manages to show it us. It’s possible for us, for evrybody to live our lives based on faith, love, conscience and compassion towards others, no matter who they are in our lives. Thanks you Pres. Cory Aquino, Thank you Lord for the gift of Cory Aquino to our nation.

Madam Cory,
Thanks for protecting the democracy in our country..You are a good example of a good leader who can trully serve the filipino people..Your death served as EYE OPENER to all corrupt officials..so they could change into the better public servant..
Thanks for being a model to all politicians specially people from Malacanang, na sana they will imitate your simplicity, honesty and god fearing values..now they could see now how people appreciated and loved your good effort to the country, sana makita nila iyon..para sabihin nila sa sarili nila, “”ano kaya ang sasabihin ng tao pag ako ang namatay po, puro galit siguro, kasi ngayon pa lang puro rally at galit ang nasa plakard nila”"”so i should change now, i still have one year to lead them…sana ganito ang sasabihin niya sa sarili niya”"..
I believe that you are now with our God and Mama Mary, i hope you still continue to ask Lord’s help for the people of the Philippines..to give us a good leader who can give better life to the filipinos, a good leader like you…
You will be in our hearts and in our memories forever..

Former President Corazan Aquino will always be a symbol for the fight for democracy not only to fellow Filipinos but as well as to the rest of the world. She had shown during her lifetime how to win back democracy amidst so many socio political factors. Her leadership during so many crisis epitomize as how to fight the preservation of freedom in a peaceful manner. Our world today needs peace, however, reality dictates that the peace is sometimes relatively attained. Nevertheless, to fight oppression, social injustices and poverty, the only weapon we could always have is PEACE………
Pres. Corazon Aquino is a perfect mother and at the same time the most-loved President. She served the Filipino people with a clean hand and a loving heart. We will be forever grateful to you Madam Pres Cory. I will miss you.
we love u pres cory. the you for the gift of liberty may you death be a wake up call to all politician today and in future the govement money is for the people not for their pocket which you have done.
The first time I saw her was in 1986 when I was in grade six. I never saw her nor meet here in person but only in TV and news papers. I SALUTE YOU PRESIDENT CORY. Thanks God for giving us the instrument of DEMOCRACY. Now, Thank you and may you rest in peace.
Thank you, President Cory, for making our history a lot richer and for leaving unforgettable footprints in our lives. You make us prouder for being a Filipino.
Marcos will always be the best president. cory was a good one

i feel the emptiness now that CORY is gone, the same i felt when i lost my mother 3 years ago…but thinking of her sacrifices for us, filipinos, i am refilled with hope and courage to move on despite the hurdles preventing me…just like one of her children, i hate to let her go, but i have to because it’s the best thing and the best way to reward her for all the things she selflessly offered for the sake of NINOY and the FILIPINOS..pondering on these, we are now happy that you are with your ideal husband forever. please tell him that his mission through you is accomplished..you’re both gone but you and your ideals strongly live in our hearts and minds…MARAMING SALAMAT AT PAALAM, AKING PANGULO CORAZON COJUANGCO AQUINO.

PRESIDENT Corazon Cojuanco Aquino-The Great President of the Republic of the Philippines, Mother of the Filipino Nation farewell…
For me, her greatest legacy was her integrity – showing people that power does not necessarily corrupt. As the president, she was selfless. May she be a reminder to all of us who are cynical about the Philippine government and the future that there are still people that places the nation first.
God bless you and your family

Im here in the UAE so I just being updated through internet but since from the day that her condition went bad Ive been following the news. And I really felt bad the first time I heard that she passed away. And everytime Im watching the updates about her I cant help but cry as if I knew her personally. I feel so sorry for all of us that we lost an inspiration, a role model to the society, and a mother to everyone. Lets just pray for her soul and let us remember her always as a woman of strength and courage…Thank you for touching the Filipino lives and uplifting our spirits.I will never forget you Cory….To her family my Condolences…
It fascinates me to realize that at the end of the day, a person’s lifetime is represented by a HYPHEN…

I would like to thank God for giving us a good president like Tita Cory. She is a great inspiration to all of us. God is so good, He has sent His instrument to bring peace and unity to the filipino people. We should all follow her good example especially in her being God-fearing. We should also do our own share to continue her advocacy. May she rest in peace. Thank you Tita Cory.
paalam President Cory Aquino, i am not a fan of her, but on how people thank & pay tribute & pay there last respect for the former-president, I was amazed on how she have touched their lives & on how she lived her life with the Filipino people. Truly, we will find it difficult again to find such person as Pres. Cory.. I am one of millions of Filipino people who will be forever be greatful for having such leader as you & for being a mother of democracy.. Paalam & May you rest in Peace.
“Actions speaks more than words”.
you may live our hearts forever and ever we love you tita cory!!
Our beloved Tita Cory, thank you for restoring democracy to our country. We forever thanked you for being good example as a leader. We are very proud of you tita cory, you were able to lead us all filipinos by your strenght through dependence of divine providence… Thank you and goodbye. God Bless!
Personally, I was not aware how much she has done for our country moreso how much she has touched Filipinos lives. Maybe because I was still ingenue at the time when all these things happened. It is just recently, particularly when she passed away that I realized how much Philippines has lost. Now I cried, not just because she’s gone but merely because we’ve lost somebody whom God sent to us, someone whom until her dying days hopes for our Nation. In all of these and more, I salute you Madam Cory! May we still have another you in this World.
I condole and pray for the eternal repose of her soul..
.` Even though I was still young when she was elected at the snap election to be the new president. I can say that TITA CORY really have an impact to me. She give us the Democracy. She also set us free from the Marcos leadership. TITA CORY is really the women of simplicity. I was able to watch the funeral of TITA CORY, many people really come,” nagtiyaga silang pumila.” The speach of her youngest daughter made me cry.” THANK YOU tita cory and PAALAM” mahal ka namin mga pilipino ” because of you im proud to be a filipino.
) may you rest in peace.
we lost the best President of the Republic of the Philippines.
Goodbye President Cory.
I am very happy to see that once again Filipinos unite chanting for “Cory, we love you..” But definitely one day after the burial, everything will go buried with Cory.
We need to realize that Cory embodies the Filipino ideals and dreams for a better Philippines. We need to realize that saying “Cory, we love you..” is another way of saying “Philippines we love you..”
So let’s unite once again for the world to see that we love our country and not just for a show on TV.
our family wept (especially my mother mrs Julianita Odchigue-85 y.o.) for the passing away of the greatest president that the Philippines has.
she inspired us so much.
“PHILIPPINES EDSA REVOLUTION” was the famous non-violent demonstrations witnessed all over the world that put the country back in the world news. I had the opportunity to join the funeral procession of the country’s greatest Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. Those unbelievable experiences are just too hard to explain and the feelings are just too great to define! Madam President Cory, this time I can’t join your proceesion now since I’m here in a foreign country working hard for the sake of my children and our country. But just to let you know, you will always in my heart and “MAY GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL” and thank you again for everything that you and the late Senator Aquino have done for the country.
she is realy a good President in the Philippines.
.tita cory we love u ikaw ang naging inspirasyon namin!salamat po!we love you!
I was only about 8 yrs old when Sen. Benigno Aquino campaigned in our hometown, Tanjay City, Neg. Or. I knew then that he’ll make a good public entity, and believed in FAMILY TRADITION! My deep sorrows for Senator’s early demise and Pres. Cory Aquino’s. They are well-loved & remembered forever!!!
TO THEIR PRECIOUS CHILDREN: Even if I’m no longer 8 yrs old, I’ll continue to cherish what your gifted parents left you and continue to support in any way I can!!! KEEP PACE !!!
I wish i was also there at the necrological service, to witness and hear everyhting they’ve said… i wish all the presidents this country will have inherit her integrity, humility, selflessness, love of country and of God.
we love you Tita Cory! you’re really a great leader who lead this nation to unite and you’re an icon of democracy. We deeply extend our condolences to Aquino family. Thank you tita cory for the democracy and for giving us freedom. Your legacy will always live in us…Paalam tita cory at salamat..
I and my family together with the Sta.Maria, Villaruel, Esto, and Dumo Family both of Banate, Iloilo and Bauang, La Unionb are very proud of You ma’am. Please accept our snappy salute to you and your family for giving us Filipino’s much courage and strength to fight for our rights and freedom, especially of our security and safety since you and your husband submit yourselves and even your own convenience and private lives for our sake.Thank you very much for giving us an opportunity to knew you and be served by you and letting us be felt secured for being always there for us as our President for almost six years and even after your term. And most of all we thank for reminding us always that to GOD nothing is impossible. Ma’am you may rest in peace.
Pres.Cory Aquino set an example on how and what a good public servant should be.This is not only a challenge for Philippine public servants but to the entire world.May her examples be not be wasted and forgotten but be an inspiration and set the entire Filipinos to gear toward a great and free country, free from graft and corruption. Thank you very much Tita Cory for you make us proud to be a Filipino wherever we are.May God bless all you family!
we always love madam president cory aquino your body only was lost but in our mind and heart you always there god bless we never forget you till the end
i never knew that president cory aquino had such impact. I was very young when tita cory became the president of the philippines so i’m not aware of her rule. But when i heard of her illness in the news and how the people around prayed and cared for her i realized that she must have been a very good person. I was then wronged when she died…because she proved more than what i realized.i told my husband,”grabe honey! That’s how president cory’s impact was. I wished i would have witnessed her good heart…” i pray that our next president would have the righteousness to stand on what’s right, especially a strong faith in God. I think that’s what we need right now.
Thank you for giving us the true democracy and Thank you for teaching us how to be prayerful. You’ll remain forever in our hearts being the true and credible President that we ever had…Goodbye Madam President…I myself together with my college students, colleagues & my family is praying for your repose soul, & the future of our NATION..We love you!
Tita cory, for me you are really hero. Youre a good example to each nd evry filipino. Im really proud of you
I salute pres. cory because inspite of her simplicity, she showed great strength and power of a woman. As a wife of a seaman who often live like a single parent, her faith in God will be my inspiration. Her selflessness in sharing her time and concern for the good of our nation made me realize that no matter how difficult my situation, I can still do good things for others. Her courage to give the best that she could to attain the democracy in our country, was an eye opener to me. Eventhough I am a simple mother to my children, I can contriute in my own simple way by teaching my children the value of honesty and love for our country. President Cory! Thank you ver much!
Tita Cory, thank you for your love.
I’m 8 years old … I do not know so much about you.
But my mom and dad are telling pieces of stories everyday to me.
I prayed for you personally … I know you have been very good as a mom and a leader … I have seen news on TV … I feel sad because I didn’t have the chance to see you. The yellow ribbon I tied in our car is a symbol of our LOVE for you.
We love you …

The message that virtue comes with suffering, and love with sacrifice, has shed light and sense into my own personal experience. Tita Cory is a shinning example of how to be blessed and how to be an instrument of God for blessing others. I have been around enough to experience what it was like during the Marcos regime… above democracy, I would say hope for a progressive nation and the spirit of nationalism (Nation first) would be up there.
Our Loving President!!!! your always be in our hearts,,,our Mother,,Our Good President,,No one can replace you in our hearts as a Filipino…Your really a great person,a mother, and a leader of our nation..while watching your tribute I shed tears,,bcoz it goes to my mind,,Phils. now is a hopeless nation,,,Enshallah one of your siblings can make our country on high and make it a peaceful country,,,no more corruption,,no more illegal activities,,and of course,,magkaisa ang lahat,,,as an OFW ramdam po namin dito sa saudi Arabia ang kawalan ng isang magaling na leader ng bansa,,,We salute you Tita CORY! President Corazon C.Aquino is a replica of a NOBLE WOMEN!!!
Proverbs 31: 25-31
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
She can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not
eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also
and praises her; Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise a the city gate..
we love you, nanay cory!!! God be with you…

She will always be an icon for strength and democracy.I just hope that wherever she is she will find peace and to the people who love her that are left behind may they have the courage to move forward and accept that our late President Cory Aquino is in a better place now away from pain and suffering.
If there is one thing I do recall in the so many speeches delivered by Tita Cory that embodies her sincerity is that one when she said “Mahirap magkamali ang Puso…”
It is undoubtedly true that anyone who leads with sheer genius, might and sometimes inherited authority never made it down to history without having his heart known and felt by the people he rules.
And even if the heart makes a mistake, it is nothing but an honest mistake that a truly loving and humble heart always finds easy to correct; and thus, a mistake easily forgotten after having sought correction.
True to her youngest daughter’s words, Tita Cory led us with maternal love. She is always by the side of the one whom she believes needs her most.
In the mutiny of February 2006, she went to Fort Bonifacio in aid of those she thought would be in peril, notwithstanding that she was putting herself as well in one in the process.
I suppose her children, most of whom have now become mothers as well, especially Kris, would always keep in mind that it takes a strong man to stand for himself; and even a stronger man to stand for others.
Surprisingly in the Philippines’ case, the best man for the job was a woman.
I was 16 when the EDSA People Power happened. There was learning that up to today, is still very memorable. Same with how memorable the former President Cory Aquino is to me and to the Filipino people. She has been a role model not of her being a President but of her being a mother to all. I am now a mother, an employee, a sister, and few of my principles of what I am now follows the example i have seen, read and learn from the former President Cory.
May we all remember her in our hearts and follow the examples she has showned us.
I’m not yet present in this world when that chaos happened,. But I always hear the names of those people who saved us from the cruelty of Martial Law.
Sometimes, there’s a person who has that much courage to make the DIFFERENCE.
Pres. Corazon Aquino is really a brilliant and ideal woman to all. She lived in humility and integrity.
I never heared she did something bad.
In this moment, the real blood of a FILIPINO is rising in me..
When last years Ninoy Aquino said” Filipino’s are worth dying for.”
]]Now it is our time to return the favor to them…even in a simple “Thank You” it is enough to show our gratitude as a citizen of this country who benifits the hardwork or our beloved mother and father (Pres. Cory and Ninoy Aquino).
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH PRESIDENT CORY..
Your name will always be remembered in History.
You are always in our hearts!!
I was 16 when the EDSA People Power happened. The memory how and why it happened is still with me, same with how i will keep the former President Cory’s examples and leadership principles as a mother, sister, friend, mentor. I am now a mother, an employee, a college instructor. And few of my principles follows what i read, see, and
hear about the former President.
May we all keep in our hearts and practice good principles she has showned us. With gratitude, til we meet in the next life we will have, my President Corazon Aquino.
i believe that what set Madam Cory apart was the fact that she accepted, and boldly, for that matter, the presidency (back in ‘86). circumstances and maybe prodding from numerous influences may have caused her to take the position but still, the matter remains that she, of her own volition, decided to bear the problems that a dictatorship had wrought upon our land. and with that choice, she became the catalyst of change. she gave us a proper democracy because she chose to be strong for us. she became the single ray of light that stood steadily for the millions of disillusioned filipino people. and by being that steady source of hope, she gave the most precious gift any citizen could ever receive: FREEDOM.
i was 6 years old when the EDSA revolution transpired. it has been twenty-three years since. yet the effects of her choosing to be president back then can still be felt. there could never have been a better time for a strength like hers to be palpable. she touched the innately good in us. she made us want to do good. to have achieved that is remarkable. and to have held on to her integrity despite the trials (during her term and after) is extraordinary.
to the Aquino family, thank you for sharing your mother to us.
to Madam Cory, my deepest gratitude.
kudos! i know you can stand proud in the Higher Being’s presence.

I left a message here yesterday a small tribute to a Philippine Icon, now I can’t find it, so I will try again.
I’ve lived in The Philippines since June 2008, I’m originally from The UK.I do however consider myself an “honoury” pinoy, I have never known anything but democracy, so it is hard for me to comprehend what it must of been like living under martial law. I know she was the person who restored democracy back to this wonderful country I now live in.
Watching the coverage of the memorial in Manilla Cathedral was very moving, something I feel proud to have seen, even more so when the funeral procession got underway.
I couldn’t help but shed a tear or three, I could see President Corazon Aquino meant so much to the Philippines and her people, the thousands of people who lined the streets to say a last farewell was an amazing sight. I’m feel very proud to have witnessed this.
Farewell Madam President, you have done you job here, “ninoy” will look after you now. God Bless, Rest in Peace.
Brian Budden.
It is a very emotional week for all of us.
Losing Cory Aquino is like a losing your very own family member. She have so much love given to our countrymen. She always say, lets pray for our people, for our country, an at the end of her journey, bumalik ito sa kanya, People are praying for her healing and recovery, at isa ako doon pero sa mga huling araw na naririnig kong nahihirapan na siya,The only thing is, instead of praying for her recovery, I pray sa Lord na huwag na siyang mahirapan pa. She doesn’t deserve to be in that pain.I surrender everything to the Lord. Her life in this world have a good purpose. She will be going to face the Lord with so much pride. It was a mission accomplished. She was a very special human being sent from above to set a good example to all of us. sana as we go back and traces her life journey will learn more from her. I can imagine her sincerity in her face, the love. the good karma, She was very special.. Her Childrens are very lucky to share with her time in this very trouble world..
ICON OF DEMOCRACY, MOTHER OF OUR NATION,
YOU HAVE SACRIFICED MOST OF WHAT YOU HAVE.
OTHERS TRY TO COPY YOUR LEGACY, BUT FAILED
BECAUSE YOUR SELFLESSNESS AND UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
FOR THE COUNTRY ARE THE KEYS TO YOUR MAGIC – “CORY MAGIC”
YOUR STRENGTH COMES FROM UNFATHOMABLE FAITH IN GOD.
YOUR POWER IS YOUR INTEGRITY AND SINCERITY
BENEATH THE SEEMINGLY FRAIL BODY IS REALLY AN IRON
OF TRUTH.
BUT MOST OF ALL YOUR GREAT CAPACITY TO LOVE RADIATES TO ALMOST ALL OF THE FILIPINOS.
NOW YOUR FIGHT IS OVER IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO REST..NO MORE SACRIFICE IS ASKED FROM YOU, YOU HAVE GIVEN MORE THAN WHAT THE FILIPINOS DESERVE BECAUSE GOD ASKED YOU TO.. NEVERTHELESS BRING WITH YOU OUR DEEPEST GRATITUDE FOR YOUR UNDYING BELIEVE THAT WE FILIPINOS ARE WORTH YOUR SACRIFICES AND UNCONDITIONAL LOVE..
WE LOVE YOU MADAM..AND THANK YOU
The Filipino nation prayed for her healing. But God answered differently…. “CORY’S DEATH”…. GOD’S WAY OF SAYING…..”HOY! FILIPINO – GISING!! !
Tita Cory, Paalam..Thank you for bringing life and hope to this country… Simbolo ka ng tunay na Kristiyano.Your are always in our hearts

Tita CORY, we love u…rest in GOD and thank u for the DEMOCRACY
She’s not only a woman of simplicity but also a symbol of faith, a pillar of strenght, and a woman of courage.
When Cory died on August 1 up to the day she was interred on the 5th, I didn’t see nor hear anything regarding Dante Buscayno, alias Commander Dante, who was freed from prison in 1986 EDSA revolt. He was my idol too; he didn’t went back to underground to renew his fight. I wonder if anyone in the press could report something about him.
President Cory, you’re a Gift from God for us all of us. You made me love our country more. I will never be passive and silent anymore when this country of ours will be dip in the mud once again.
Every testimony of each of them clearly showed the qualities of a good leader for this country, and being just a plain citizen as well..she is a great lost for filipinos. Her legacy will forever be felt and enjoy and her memories will linger forever in my heart..i love you madam president and thank you so much for your wonderful life you shared with us. Rest in Peace.
thank you pres.cory u are a hero sana gagawin ka nila idolo sa tumakbo bilang presidenti kasi nasubokan na ibang sumonod syo mga walang hiya puro lang corruption lahat hindi na inisip ang bayan sayang lang ang pinaghirapan ninyong magasawa binaboy ang ating bayan.
I was once a witness of what had happened in EDSA when people demonstrated their outgrade against the dictator. The outpouring of support and selfless stance of people against the canyons and guns. The memory is so vivid and heart warming. Now that President Cory is dead, people are showing again the support of love and was inspired again to become nationalistic, What it is in the family of Aquino that can bring people from all walks of life Unite?….. so hard to define…but to me its Simplicity and cuorage to step up against what is wrong and make it right. I feel very very sad hearing thats shes gone, Since the start of the mourning were all glued to TFC, chasing every news we could grasp in our off hours until midnight just to witness this once again an enormous outpouring of support from our Kababayan. Now that she was already laid to rest beside Ninoy i hope that she will find peace and happiness again with Ninoy and in Gods hand. Dont worry President Cory we love you and you will always be in my heart where ever we go. You make us all OFW Proud.
Tita Cory is really indeed a great woman in time!!!!! Tita Cory lived by example….You are so muched loved Tita Cory….Thank you for all your sacrifices!!! Thank you so much .. You will always be in our hearts till the many generations to come…. Sana may isa pang katulad ninyo na TUNAY na magmamahal, magtatangol sa amin at sa bayan….Please continue to pray for our country and for our leaders to be clean like you!!!! Salamat President Cory…We love you!!!!
We, as a nation must continue to struggle for genuine democracy and promote the common welfare. Hence, in order to pay our genuine tribute to Ninoy and Cory, we must admonish politicians who are only present during those times of grief merely to grandstand. My salute to the common people and some officials whether national or local who mingled with the “common taos”, lined-up with the masses and never introduced themselves to get VIP passes (that should have been only given to Relatives and close-intimate friends of the family) but paid their last respect to the former and only genuine unselfish President the country ever had. These “shameless politicos” never want to set an example to the whole populace that they can humble themselves and line-up together with the rest of those who wanted to pay their last respects befitting the former President who is best known for her simplicity and humility. This also goes to the showbiz personalities who like these “shameless politicos” wanting VIP treatment. Yes, “Dear Tita Cory” is not perfect but her simplicity, humility and integrity is beyond doubt. Alas, it is a shame that a lot of those shameless personalities in politics and including showbiz never learned! I call all freedom loving Filipinos that we must learn our lessons, and do our part in the coming elections. We must not allow these “shameless politicos” to once again grandstand. For example, the move in sponsoring calls that the former President be declared a national hero by some politicians. Deep in our hearts, she is one and we the populace, the common people, should be the one to make the calls and not these “shameless politicos”. If the late Don “Chino” Roces was able to gather the million signatures for “Dear Tita Cory”, surely we can do it also. Kudos to all freedom loving Filipinos, who lined-up, sweat and got rained on just to pay the respects befitted to “Dear Tita Cory”. Shame on all grandstanding personalities present during the wake and interment!!!!!
If we respect or honor Dr. Jose Rizal as our national hero, well then President Corazon Aquino will remain the title as a renown national Queen of the Philippines.
We hope you may rest in Peace and share your blessings to all of us, speacially for the disadvantage childrens and families who are most experiencing deficulties in their livelihood such as suffering from hunger and poor health or the homeless, also alcohol, drugs, gumbling’s addictions and family violence’s victims.
I personally considered you as Mother Theresa that shoulder most the problems or majority of the people on her time delivering her heartfelt services of kindness.

i really fell sad that we lost our true leader…
i still remember… i was 6 years old at that time, it was 1985, everytime we passed the street and on our way to the province….,me and my cousins made a symbol of our hands of ” CORY” facing to the young and old one, …….they respond us ..of raising their hands and do the symbol also….and some waving thier hands and hold yellow things…
Its really touching because i fell right now how people being unite…they accept the little one expressing the freedom we long for…
i am so proud to share this things, its a meaningful one…

We Love you Tita Cory.
Simply “Love One Another As We Loves Our Self” she is truly our icon of “Hope,Faith,Respect and Trust” . She shows the true meaning of happiness “Sharing her Love & Life” to the world. Thanks be to God who is the Creator of all good things. May the goodness in us all come out in the death of a noble woman. Really, the Filipinos are worth it….. Thanks to the Aquino children we shared in their blessings. Ninoy and Cory is God’s gift to us all…. God bless us all !!!
Hey guys check the website of Pres. Cory, I’ts amazing! prepare a tissue paper to wipe your tears.
She was a strong-willed wife and mother for all the trials she had overcome in her life. It was 23 years ago that she became the president in the philippines and i was a young college freshman then in manila. I love her moral legacy and thank you for all the shared memories that you instilled in each and every filipino’s heart. I pray for you Tita Cory.
dear madam cory, during your funeral i requested my staff, and the rest of us to wear yellow as sign of our sympathy and to commemorate your death,we feel the pain even my husband who is a singaporean,he too wore a yellow shirt as he too feel the grieve, madam cory is a woman of a special powers, its amazing how she gave herself to the filipino people rather than just be sitting down at her home, she sacrifice so much, with a heart that is like a saint, cory is a saint,we all love you madam,we too cannot stop crying remembering all what you’ve done to us,you gave us the freedom, and you made so many people happy, thank you madam cory,we know you now rested peacefully together with sir ninoy, peace be with you
During my college days, i hate her for everyday brownouts. When i saw her funeral,i felt sorry for myself.. i cried so hard that I never try to know who she really is. Thank you Madam President. You will be forever cherish
Philippines has lost one of the great leaders. I was then a Marcos loyalist and I hate the Aquinos taking over the Malacanang but that was yesterday.
I thought Cory Aquino was one of the corrupt officials but I have realized that those who made corruption during her time were those appointed cabinet members, and other appointed officials under her regime.
Mrs. Aquino earned the respect of the Filipinos!
by putting tita to her name cory, a homespun term of endearment, may stay in the minds of our people but this is also an overstaying understatement of what she really signifies in the political history of the country. people are made to believe by people that she was god sent. people tells people that she is simply a woman who crossed her fate to be the first woman president of the country before she was able to permanently decide whether her coffee making days for her husband Benigno Aquino is over. she believes that she made it to the presidency because she is cory. she believes that there lies certain magic in her name cory. cory can also be said as sorry she became president as a changeling designate so that the greedy traditional politician can come back using her as a jumping board to scale the political powers that be and engorged themselves with the so called ill gotten wealth such as public funds squireled away into their pockets and seizing on the countries capital to rob the public funds such as the CARP and the Oil Stabilization fund and other funds that are for the people such as the SSS and in the beeline of hypocricy while saying that the funds are taken back to get them from the cronies. Greedy politicians held the mantle of power to enrich themselves and without shame took patrimonial properties such as PAL and chopped it in the block then transferred to some holding companies in Hong Kong with utter disregard to the basic premise of constitutional order.
To top these all tragedy, one scheme that was put into action was the PCGG that was illegal and outrightly confiscatory even if the cory administration brazenly says that their government is revolutionary such that it has an inherent power to do outright confiscation of private property without the benefit of legal procedure. this is illegal and a violation of all tenets of law whether in war or peace, it is a shameful phase of the legal history of our people that ushered in the darkest chapter of the Philippine democratic process culminating into an unparalled pogrom where many of our presidentiables where put into extinction for the sake of consolidation of power and sell the Philippines to an endless colonial status anew. This is exactly what happened in the so called terminal presidency of Corazon Aquino, whom the American would say: the woman in yellow dress who is vitally competent as a figure head but more comfortable in the kitchen than confront the vagaries of the hegemonic foreign policy of the USA to grind the Filipinos.
I can say to Tita Cory: oh, the Philippine Wonder at the edge of Apostasy.
