‘Mikey’ Arroyo charged before Ombudsman

Government Employees (Courage) in its seven-page complaint-affidavit has asked the Office of the Ombudsman to order Rep. Arroyo to explain how his net worth “suddenly ballooned to a staggering P61.8 million in 2005” from zero in his first year in public office.

Courage stressed that Rep. Arroyo could be held liable for graft based simply on his admission on September 2 to GMA 7’s Unang Hirit hosts Winnie Monsod and Arnold Clavio that he accepted wedding gifts and campaign contributions worth millions of pesos, which boosted his assets from only P76.9 million in 2005 to P99.2 million in 2008.
